something wierd

so i officaially accepted to the wilson center. going to be starting september 7 at 2pm. woo. business attaire. in the federal triangle. train stops 2 blocks north. calvert area looks great and is right on zoo. lots of resturants in the area along with the stanford building so mayb ill meet some of them. gonna have a week to just hang out and get into my classes. almost done clothes shopping. got a jacket and shoes and a shirt recently...and socks.

i  keep having day dreams about meeting obama and talking about chicago with him, is that wierd? idk that would b sweet though....mayb ill at least see him.

mike holmes signed with the bears as undrafted pretty sweet. he was a great defender for SU. hell, maybe he will start and that will give me an excuse to get a new bears jersey. :)

getting really bored as of late. no new games, friends always out of town, no b, no nothing. too hot. no more free golf, mom is busy. i guess its just time to prepare for DC and the wedding. speaking of which i need a speech asap....

internship

i do say, i got an internship offer! woo! its for the woodrow wilson centter to international scholars. working with a pulitzer prize winner and a harvard man. pretty sweet gig. the wilson center was up there on my list. MEI fell after their internship seemed not wht i wanted, stimson was alright i guess but very competative, ISW was very interesting but idk if it was my expertise, comet was sweet and paying but in college park, csis was perfect for me but i never applied i waited to apply until now and now i have this offer so im not gonna risk it. wilson is in a great place and really well known along with my scholars. they arent the perfect projects but ill deal. this  blog will become my journal of my experiences so watch out!

this is my first time writing NOT from my bed. wierd right? im also watching tv which is probably affecting my concentration and ideas for writing.

breaking a slump

i gotta say it felt pretty good to smack some balls today. yea that sounds really bad, but im talking golf here. i went to the driving range and i was consistantly hitting well. it was like me in my prime. mayb one  mishot in like 5 or more shots. it was all because i started my extending my arms before i set my lower body. it was like i was falling into position with my arms stretched out. not reaching as far as possible. but full extension and not close or pulled into my body at all. also, i went bac to trying to go straight up and down more, but not too much. just nice and naturally and smoothly.driving was also surprisingly great today. probably actually my greatest day of driving ever!!!! i actually hit my potential of close to 275yds! it was by not crouching like i was in the past. isk y i got it to crouching so much when i drove. today i was like standing almost straight upright. or thats wht it felt like. not alot of knee bending with full arms extension. also i swung it more like my irons. more vertical and not focusing all on horizontal. but just think a touch about being horizontal and not breaking my wrists on the backswings. and i was smashing it like this! just more like my irons and WAY more upright. O yea! also i tryed not placing the club on the ground and that was great! it made it all so smooth. also it allowed me to do the arm extension first and then set my feet, just like my irons. NOT the way riley taught me by placing the club head first and set from there. just set up like an iron shot, dont place club on ground, arms extend first, more vertical with a touch of horizontal backswing. dont break wrist. i hope by writing this i will remember this. maybe ill do another range round to solidify it. but i also really want to get out. i hate this warm weather right now. screwing up my workouts and golf plans....

i also want to break my b slump. i like really miss and want her. i still think shes gorgeous and i miss our redo nights. i miss my single room and cuse nights ;) gonna b real bad in dc where i cant even b around her. looked great to day. miss it :( want it

battlefield bad company 2 review:

9 out of 10 score. fun campaign thats satisfying but has huge cliff hanger. destruction in MP makes it so much different and funer/ so addicting. still playing. recommended. both aspecsts are great

the days ahead

well then, arabic is done for the summer woo! no more driving into hydepark and taking the train downtown everyweek :( im gonna miss it because i love the city so much, its  probably one of the biggest reasons y i couldnt stay all summer in cuse. still the best city. gonna miss my medici sandwiches. so fresh tasting. amina was good but i miss the environment from eva.

its interesting to think of the bhawks blueline trading campoli and campbell for montador and lepisto. C and C are both puck moving men but montador is more gritter and played on buffalos power play. also lepisto says he wants to be rush dman making passes, so mayb he will with the hawks. i say montador trumps campoli but niether trump campbell, but campbell had the nastiest contract so i guess its all good in the hood. especially if lepisto works out and develops into campbell jr cuz hes still young. i gotta say im shocked that the fan poll says ppl r most excitied for carcillo. i pick montador. idk wht carcillo can do skill wise but ig guess i will c this year.

plan is to run, finish ndu, letter for comet, do schedule tomorrow. an exciting day obviously. but nice to have no work or class or homework.

still bored at night. BC2 multiplayer annoyed me. my teams always got raped. fuckin a.

poor planning

i started playing badcompany2 tonight. freakin rock. idk y i love dice fps' so much. i huess i just like their formula alot.

i scheduled for a dentist appoitment tomorrow morn which was i bad idea cuz i need the time to finish my homework before my last class. gah o well. at least its before noon and ill b done after not  a long time. also, im quite excitied about being done with arabic for the summer cuz i need some of my time bac actually. i have felt kinda busy. which is good i suppose but i wont miss being busy. i need to spend my time finishing my cover letters by the end of the month and running. i REALLY need to run and i miss my nights of doing it. i gotta admit ill miss commuting cuz its kinda fun. especially the train. just a fun day in the city lol.

i gotta admit that i miss my gf. we r on some sort of break or space giving. i miss spending time with her when she was happy and cuddling. sux. im such a loner now. especially with shep out of town, aarons always out and coles out of touch. idk wht to do here. i kinda want to let loose in dc but idk how or wht. i guess just doing nothing here makes u wanna do so much latere? idk. whteverssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

mid july

well that is the time of the year and it feels like late summer.  and i guess i had my whole summer based around applications and my sisters wedding.  i really had hoped to have all applications in by now if i had held to my spring plan but whateves. i feel like im still in a good position if i get 4 in by the end of the month. then just one last one in august just for kicks really. i want to get 2 of those 4 in by wednesday though. ndu and cpi. then force myself to do comet and fmep in the coming weekend.  then that leaves CSIS and cni left to do. woo! idk if thats good though. i kinda want to have them all in by the end of the month just to make sure. maybe after arabics done ill be able to force myself to finish these. its really only cover letters that im just being lazy about. shit. gah this is so nerve racking! cuz i have no idea what pace the other people are at either.

i have been rather productive this summer though. but not enough apparently according to my current standards. blah blah blah.....

nothing new in hockey as of late. they are making a big deal about kanes surgery but he will b back in a couple motnhs and wont lose any games so im not worried at aall. i also learned odonnell was a top starter for the flyers last season so maybe he isnt too bad. i also know nothing about lepisto whos campolis replacement. stupid campoli apparently wasnt even close to the hawks so they dropped him. stupid play by him. i watched the 16 inning rsox rays game for some stupid reason. only 2 run scored. so boring. also i need a new game cuz im getting real bored at night without B. i miss her being happy and with me. also my friends need to stop traveling for camping and kentucky so i have something to do some nights.

gotta say i was really disappointed in harry potter. i give it like 2 stars cuz i had no fuckin idea wht was going on and it was not epic or climatic.

i maybe posted this in the past, but im kinda disappointed that the hawks didnt pick anyone else up. they just got a lot of depth guys and vets. thats not completely what the hawks needed. they needed a real no2 center. i really hope that one of the prospects in camp steps it up! we need a rookie of the year canidate! we have the ppl in the system to get one.ugh. we also have the cap space for another free agent. they should have traded for another. like fehr or something. blah....

im reading a new book on the convergence of the civilizations. it basically says that demographic changes show that christains and muslims are on the same path and dont have to collide into conflict. im looking forward to it cuz i hate the clash of the civs. we dont HAVE to go to war with the east. i hate how its now assumed that we will always be at a conflict with them. if anything, i like the end of history theory more! even though ppl mock it, but ill give it another 100 years to prove true. thats how much time i will allow for the proper revolutions and progress that brings nearly 100% of the world to democracy. even if its close in 2100, ill still say he was more right than huntington. maybe its my optimism or arab bias that makes me think that there doesnt have to be a clash, but still. whteever. i hope i get a chance to finish this book. idk how long ive got it...

force unleashed 2: 7 out of 10. very fun but nothing to call home about. a good rental and weekend play. enjoyable but doesnt add much from the first game.

havnt blogged much recently. been too tired i feel like the last few days. been too lazy for alot of things like running. but i have been pujmping out the cover letters and arabic hw left and right as of late. well thats pretty much why i havnt ran recently.
earlier today sometime after dinner i had a revelation to blog about that got from talking with my parents. but i cant think of it. all i can think about is how teenagers dont work like they used to or how similar the history of islam is to christianity but are just a few generations behind cuz it was formed like 600 years later. gah this is really annoying....i feel like it was something not about IR though but maybe very loosely tied to it....

hawks didnt sign anyone else. including campoli frolik and stalberg which concerns me. bowman just doesnt get along with RFAs. it is probably right that they should have signed campoli before montador so they could get campoli at a cheaper rate, but now campoli wants montadors deal. idk what frolik is demanding but he only deserves a tiny raise. stalberg has nothing to baragin with so they will get around to him. annoying though cuz those are all guys the hawks need.

the driving range was better. the instructor said coming over the top will make u slice. but i actually think i wasnt doing that enough so i was pulling it. so now im going more vertical and over the top of the ball. like my very old swing. full extension of the arms especially now. no resting or contractions. more upright but athletics still. hope it works. would like to hit the range again and start out right away with this new stance again. ill get to the driver later. need to fix irons NOW. but i was encourages by today.

work sucked today, long, annoyinig, stupid coworkers, schedule; just sucked.

nhl offseason

i love this shit!

there are so many overhauls and trades. despite the being a weak UFA year, the market has been crazy! i dont understand the flyers though. they traded versteeg to the panthers. tallon adding another cup hawk and the flyers trading away another young talent. i just dont get the flyers. they are trading away someone from every aspect. they also didnt resign the highly tauted leino! wtf flyers. they are just letting everyone go. with carcillo, thats now 4 forwards gone. wow. who will be on the team? are they going to make an offer to brad richards? or stamkos? one ricards for another wouldnt make sense. so maybe they are going after RFAs like stamkos. i hope to god that stamkos doesnt get an offer sheet. i love him on the lightning. gives florida a legit market and they have a great team with him that made it to the eastern finals this year, like i predicted.

now the hawks. i really liked the signing of burnette. he was that scoring guy i was talking about the other day. he should be good for 20 goals, which is good from a ufa at this point. carcillo is just crazy, like an eager or scott. with mayers also. holy shit now thats some grit.  they also added a mclean and odonnell who i know nothing about. i feel half of these 5 guys are just for depth and wont always be in the lineup. healthy scratches. burnette with probably be a regular third or 4th liner. current lineup? lets see...toews kane sharp, hossa bolland frolik, kruger smith olesz, burnette stalberg morin(morin is a place holder for now).
that lineup doesnt sound great right now. but thats why they need another center. i think they should get connolly. arnott is a little old to b on 2nd line. connolly is really the only 2nd line worth center on the market besides richards.  unless the hawks find someone inside the system.

i am unbelieveably surprised with what tallon has done for florida!!!!! holy shittt!!! campbell, versteeg, theodore, fleishman, jovanoski, upshall, kopecky, bergenheim. goc.  holy fuck is that a makeover or what!! they will actually be contenders in the future and maybe even the playoffs this season. they didnt add a big name talent but they may have the parts to win as a team effort. i just think i may be rooting for them this season. tallon is a hell of a GM. though i am not unhappy with bowmans efforts though. he has been good this offseason, but i wish he got some of the UFAs florida got lol. like fleishman or goc. im kinda jealous lol. but bowman has improved us also for the longrun.

i gotta say i am loving the huge movement this season. the panthers seriously migh move up into the flyers playoff spot. all the flyers have left is an aging blueline. wow.

more hawks moves

they now traded kopecky for pick then used that pick to get rights to montador. kopecky would have been asking about 3mil for his limited role, but then they signed montador to just under 3mil. i think they overpaid for montador but he did just have a career season in pts and +-. i was also a little surprised because i thought the hawks were shored upped on dman once they resifn campoli, but i guess with campbell gonw, they need another upper rier dman. pairs: keith seabrook, hjammerson campoli, montador leddy. i actually really like the sound of that. not too bad considering how good campbell was. so i guess i am know happy with them signing him cuz he will have a big role. kopecky was a role player so he was replacable for cheaper. the hawks NEED to sign frolik and campoli now! stalberg also, but he isnt as key as the other 2 restricted freeagents.

i would like to see the hawks sign eith erjoel ward or john madden, id side with madden cuz he was so loved during the cup run and it would be nice to see him back. i wish therer were more ppl between madden and richards cuz thats whaat the hawks need. a solid centerman without paying max.
